In the Video TV World you have whats referred to as Video Impressions, This is also applied to the Print world as well. So lets analyze this for a moment. When you go to the other sites and add content where does that content display and how often does it display to the worlds public viewing.. I just added a profile to the all mighty Yourspace web site and added some of my music content. Where did it go? Initially I couldn't find it within a search box. My new content did not show up as a new addition on the front position of the site. Now my content did show up on my profile page , but my profile page didn't show up on the main site front page area. What is so damn hot about Yourspace. Would somebody please fill me in. Hell I saw more Spam laiden Porn and dating services than I even saw of my own profile content. What is wrong with people in thinking that this type of exposure is going to help them. It's all about you and your own efforts in networking that these sites are all relying and counting on. It's not just YourSpace I'm talking about here, it's others as well. Impressions mean how many times a person is going to see or in our case hear the content that is trying to be pushed. Jamcast always Pushes your material to the front stream of the site. Jamacast always cycles your content in a random view section on the front page of it's site. The more popular this site becomes the more impressions you will have on your content. Now bands and musicians need to start thinking less in terms of genre and more in terms of exposure. When a particular musician comes to this site, they need to become content exposure sensitive. They need to put there ORIGINAL material on this site. Why because like no other site they are going to be highlighted to the front channel of this site. They will also show other bands of their genre that this site is for them too and not just a site of the current displayed genre. This is a full set of benefits that on other sites you will have to have a label already or is a feature that is payed for. Prominent front page exposure is absolutely necessary when it comes to impressions. Jamacast statistics are slowly but surely climbing in a positive direction each month that the site has been in business. the rest is up to you the user to self promote and to use those same skills these other sites force upon you, except here you will reap in the advertisement benefits as well as the venue contribution. If your a band playing out you need to tell the venues you play at about this site and work this site just like you already do with those other profile sites out there that you are all aware of. Spread the word and you will get booked more often if you are a band. All of this effort will payoff in the long run. If you are a traditional copy band coming to this site for the first time, don't be turned off if all you see is another type of genre on this site .this only means that they have beat you here and they are working the site like you should be. When this site starts to pick up premium members the money will be used to buy advertisement on Yahoo,Google and others as well as local newspaper, Cable and TV ads. This site uses all of the most current and sophisticated SEO techniques to help with Search Engines finding all of the material on this site. Rss feeds are always being updated as new material is put on to this site. Tell me of any other music site that will give you the musician 25% of any ad that is placed on it's music player to an individual musician. While your at it I would really like to know what site offers free advertisement on it's front page to any Venue establishment that will book you the musician. Now this site is about Musicians helping Musicians, are you a Musician that is serious about your music and getting exposure? If you are then spread the word about this site, it could make a difference.
Groove On!!!
myspace
actually myspace isn't a site for promoting , or getting any exposure at all. Myspace is just a way to have your own profile/page that YOU can show to people. So if you make a Myspace page, you have to be known in the industry, and there you can show your people what you have done in time.
Sure i prefer other sites where i might get some comments. I have you guys , the guys from www.audiofoolz.com
