Necromanos - Pink Panther Theme (Limited Time Available)

Necromanos's picture

"The Pink Panther Theme" by Henry Mancini - the acid jazz version ;o) This is one of my favorite themes. I wanted to see what I could do with it - and see if I could stick with something until finished! Of course, it's a cover tune so only available for a short time, and will be removed after a few days. Click on the player to listen. 11/3 was the last day to listen - send me a message if you'd like to hear and I'll send a link.

Interesting effects ... harmonizer?
With such instrumentation you could compose great stuff including your voice and some guitar riffs, don't ya think? ;o)

Muliti Midi

The harmonizing was basically recording a midi track, fixing the bugs or adding variations, bouncing the track, and using different soft synths for the playback on each track. By having the synths have different characteristics, it created slight variations. So while some tracks were basically duplicates, the final result came out more interesting than the individual parts. The first lead section is the same melody played with and instance of an Ultra Analog Session lead patch with a slow wah/modulation along with Lounge Lizard Session Rhodes EP with a quicker wah. The middle section has four slightly different tracks with different synths: Piano Tech (medium grand piano), Triangle II (sort of electronic flute sound), Tapeworm mellotron (brass), and Ugo's Rez (electronic lead brass). The intro chords are Ultra Analog brass and strings with Ugo Motion swelling in on another track, the bass is Ultra Analog 80's bass - both also used throughout the song, melody reprise is Ugo's Rez with delay. The almost organ sounding chords under the solo are Alpha synth "spacedrone" setting. Drums are a Korg M1le plugin. The first two notes of the song are Piano Tech. I think that's all. Sounds more complicated than it was to do. Mainly just tried out sounds/synths till I found one I liked for the part.
