Just an update to let everyone know that the beginning of the new server move starts this weekend. This move will take some time (months), because the site is going to have all updated software versions to the latest releases. This means that each feature of the site will have to be moved over one at a time and tested. Some of the features will go away for awhile and then either reappear or be replaced with a similar feature. I will be changing some of the placement locations also. I'm going to try to get some other people involved in the process as well. The first thing I am going to try to do if the host will allow it, is to have the server setup to allow for larger file uploads. If they don't allow it, I will have to work on an alternative. I'm going to be checking on this function tonight.

You guys are great for keeping the wonderful content alive. I have been so busy working on the dull aspects of trying to get this site and my back injury in order. It is now time to get busy making this site progress into the next level I think. One of the cool features I am going to work right away on is to get the new chat system in order. It is supposed to have a private room creation feature, this will be good for a quick collaborative briefing scenario. I will also be able to go wild with implementing other new modules for the site too. One of those features will be implementing the Google translate module for internationalization aspects, and setting up an e-commerce module finally. I'm thinking of setting up an account on the Itunes store for the site, this one is up in the air still.

Also coming right after the new site is workable, I will be having some mini contests. These contests will offer simple prizes like T-Shirts,Hats and smaller prizes like Mp3 Players that are preloaded with the player tunes. Then sometime a little further in to the new site I will revisit that Large open to the public contest that I tried to get off of the ground a little ways back. This contest is going to be a Music Video contest, so get going on some video stuff guys and start warming up.

I am also going to have a new area on the site I will call the Jamacast free for all store, for the lack of a better name. This area will be a file repository for all things music related from Sound clips to full featured DAW's to be downloaded for free, as well as tutorials, VST's, plugins, ISO's and Graphics. The area folder will be like your own hard drive folder to just download from as much as you like.

We already have a few Collab tunes that have been put together on the site that would make a great contribution to a Jamacast Collective CD effort. When we get enough of these together we can revisit the Meeting aspect of this idea and maybe recompile some of them to fit an exclusive design effort as well. This is just another site concept we will all have to revisit in the near future after the new site is up and going strong.

None of the content that is currently on the site will be left out during the new site move over. So don't worry about doing anything with your already posted content, it will remain intact and I will always keep backups of this data.
