I would like to use this in a collab sometime in the future if that is OK with you. I just don't have the time to do anything right now. The tune is very remanisant of good ole T-Rex sound. I loved Marc Bolan's stuff. Very strange music/person and I once wanted to make some of my own music based on his rhythm patterns. The songs that stick out in my mind the most from him was not his most popular tunes instead it was Buick Mackane, The Slider and Metal Guru. I also liked how my album was scratchy sounding hehe. I loved this stuff. Learn more about Marc Bolan on this Wikipedia link. TRex
Mark Bolans son grew up in USA not having any idea whatsoever that his Dad was rather a large British iconic character/figure in the 70s. When he visited England a couple of years ago he was seriously blown away about the fact his Dad was bigger here than in the USA and still is to this day. Apparently so the rumour, goes someone, somewhere is playing a Bolan song every second of the day. Good.
Rock on you Slippy, slidey, leopard skin clad Metal Guru.
If I were to get my head out of the 70's I would think this little tune reminded me more of a Collective Soul sound or go back again and maybe The Cars. The Cars were a big influence on Collective Soul. I wonder if any of these two groups were influenced by Bolan? it doesn't matter either way because this is really DJ Skyhawk's sound and I'm not trying to say it sounds like any particular tune. Just reminds me of some past tunes a little which is cool. I think this is what mashers are trying to say when everything is already stolen anyhow and that it doesn't matter because it's your Mashup which makes the difference or original which is usually comprised of other pieces of known songs also. There is a big controversy out there as to what is really owned as an original idea and what should be considered free and open ideas. Some believe all ideas should be considered free to steal because the idea is not really yours, you just think it is yours and really it is everyones to share freely. They believe that to actually take something that is owned by someone that thing has to be removed from them in some way. With ideas that are stolen (used) the original idea remains with tha person that it so called originated and therefore was not actually taken. It is still there for him to use as well. It is only when law makers and certain organizations put claim down on such ideas as tangible things that it gives the illusion of something being stolen /taken/removed from the holder. To deep for me jeesh!!!
I like it
