Asaguare - Forever Ends Tonight

Slow pop ballad about two friends who lost their dream.

Wrote it when I was in a rather sentimental mood. So it turned out quite simple and technically far from perfect (jolty vocals, monotonous backing synth, suboptimal balanced tracks). However, after having listened to the draft mixdown twice, I didn't mind, cos my basic intention was to carry the lyrics. On the other hand - if you're in such a weepy disposition you don't care for details.

The short spoken words clip (at the end of the chorus) is a kind contribution of Splicer mate Of_The_Ego.

Asaguare - Lucid Dream

Sound interpretation of a lucid dream - beware: it's NOT mainstream!
Inspired by the graphical artwork 'The Reality Inside The Dream' by splicer dvsoria.

Splicer dvsoria is graphics artist from the Philippines. I admire his fashion magazine drawings and his comic-like style. When i first saw his picture 'The Reality Inside The Dream', a dozen of strange and surreal thoughts came into my mind immediately. Composing this tune was like a journey through the subconscious... weird and experimental.

Asaguare - Bloody Letters

Raggae style ballad

In 1985 my friend Lutz (no musician) and me were sitting in the kitchen, drinking and talking about music. He asked me if it was difficult to write a song. I replied that chords and melody are easy to find but it's always hard work to get some lyrics (at least for me). So just for fun we started to invent rhyming text lines alternately. I wrote them down and added a couple of chords the next day. Then I put it aside and forgot it for a pretty long time.
In january 2008 I happened to rediscover it in a pile of old papers and published it as a raggae on Splice.

Asaguare - Heart Of The City

Urban rock/triphop ballad about bleakness of niteclubbin scenes, trying to find answers and reaching decisions even they lead to isolation.

Asaguare - Midnite Lady

Simple pop song (german text) about unsatisfied love, what else?

Somewhere in 1999 I used to go to my favourite pub for a late night chess play at the weekends. One day I noticed a beautiful girl standing alone at the bar. I fell (a bit) in love with her and considered to make a pass on her after the match, but when the chess game was over, she was gone. Neither bartender nor waitress knew her and in fact I never met her again. You can call it checkmate...

Asaguare - Kik Da Base (nylon mix)

Techno/trance study based on a conceptional draft by Skyhawk.
Thanks to Toddnrgi and IdisidI for inspiration. Additional synth by IGTB (Caitlyn excerpt).

Three versions of a groovy tune is not enough. Last night I spliced number four, just for the fun of it.

Remix note: The original and all embedded clips can be found on Splice (http://www.splicemusic.com/songs/Asaguare/kik-da-base-nylon-mix).

Asaguare - Swamp

Acapella tribal
Song about throwing troubles into a deep swamp and hoping they will never appear any more. Yeah, life can be that easy...

My first try to create an acapella song on Splice. Well, to be honest, after having recorded and arranged my vocal clips, I thought that something was missing. So I added an unobtrusive synth bass line and a jungle soundtrack to bring out kinda swamp atmosphere.

Australian outback soundscape, meditative and chilling ambience - Vocal crew (Splice mates) in alphabetical order: arobee1134, bram, idisidi.
And no, I haven't the faintest idea what the hell these blokes are doing with the stones.

Asaguare - Splicers Blues

A standard blues I wrote for the older ones on Splice in dec 2007.
Gave the sequencer's cheap piano a try - well, for classic music it's really rather cheap, but it sounds ok for dirty boogies. Except a single drumloop, all tracks are created by editing notes in piano roll mode.

Farewell Bumba - Asaguare

One of my early experimental Splice songs, in which I played around combining several styles and vocal samples. It started with a nice clip (sung short melody) of Splicer girl Daisycrazy. Searching for a backing choir I found an interesting sample of a Tibetan school children choir. Sadly the keys didn't match and since I wanted to keep original pitches I couldn't overlay them. Instead I played them seperately, connected by a decent chord bridge.

Asaguare - Damals

Wrote this song in 1985. It has german lyrics and was originally played only by guitar. This version, however, is an extended one with drums/synth, as always created by using the Splice sequencer.

Asaguare - Es Wird Kalt

Once again a german Pop Ballad about saying good-bye when love is gone (title: It's getting cold). A cover version from a song I wrote in 1985, which was a quite creative year. And yes Sir, apparently I'm unable to write happy love songs...

Asaguare - Gimme Ticket

Club version of Rock oldie "The Letter".

This is my first modern cover version of an evergreen. If you listen carefully, you'll hear that I slightly altered the lyrics, now it goes: ... my baby wrote me an email. Furthermore I've inserted a little choral intermezzo to go beyond 3 minutes - the original song is only 1:58.

Asaguare - Question One

Bluegrass style popsong about questions and having a clue in life.
(And yes, I tried to sing it with a lisp - dunno why, thought it could give it a touch of countryside authenticity, haha. However the result was rather odd, but in the end I decided to keep it, because it sounded too funny.)

Asaguare - Mue Bloon

Sort of modern version of a standard classic pop ballad.
Afaik this tune has been added to the list of standard jazz ballads, so there's no licensing issues and hence has been covered by many artists.

Asaguare - Anolytiom

Classical style woven melodies on an electronica background.
The term Anolyt (in the title) is an expression from paranormal science - Anolyt stands for alteration of water molecules due to cosmic radiation; the atomic bindings of hydrogen and oxygen are slightly bowed, resulting in a spheric form which widens the information depot. The occuring polarisation is equated with a male principle.

Asaguare - Am Brunnen Vor Dem Tore

Traditional german folk song, slightly modernized style.
This was my test project when I recently checked out the Reaper sequencer. Although the rendering worked fine, it was impossible to work with this prog... just too buggy when it comes to MIDI/VSTi. Actually this song was intended to be a bit longer, but due to the mentioned glitches... no chance. So I sadly decided to deinstall Reaper today :o(

Asaguare - Vevo

Frisky little tune.
This is an instrumental study where I basically wanted to use two clips from Splicemusic which were on my fav list a longer time: one is a bowed cello (as neat bass line), one is a hammond organ (serving as additional chording aid). For the rhythm track I took a discreet airtone drumloop. Melodic movement and sparsely chordings were done by the sequencer's internal sinusoid synth.
Although the song's character was intended to be melancholic, it came out quite happy-moody after I had added the melody.
